Crafty Gals - Sharon

It's time to celebrate Sharon from the SCS Crafty Gals Blog Group.

To know Sharon is to love her.  I know her only over the internet.  We have spoken by phone a few times and shared some pretty lengthy PMs.  I always notice when she is gone and miss her cheerfulness, incredible spirit, and genuineness.  By far, Sharon is one of the most generous soles around.

I know she is a SU Demo but I also know she loves the Penny Black hedgehogs.  I didn't CAS a particular card but went with our mutual love of Penny Black.

I used this particular sentiment as it reminds me of how I visualize  views life.
Love ya, Sharon!

Be sure to check out Sharon's blog, Sharon's Thoughts and Crafts.  If you need card inspiration she is a whirlwind at cranking out cards and has oodles of ideas from her creations.

Thanks for stopping.

Crafty Girls - It's Zella Time!

Splitcoaststampers Crafty Gals Blog Group this month celebrates Zella.  One thing I find in looking at Zella's cards is that they illustrate the kind soul and heart of this beautiful lady.

The idea is to pick a card Zella made and case it.  I picked this card from Zella's blog:

From hers, I created:

Be sure to check out Zella's blog, Joyful Expressions.  There you will find a wide variety of talent and creativity!

Crafty Gals - Celebrate Lela

Splitcoaststampers Crafty Gals Blog Group this month celebrates Lela.  I have admired Lela's cards for several years.  She has the knack for picking patterned papers and bringing the entire design of the card all together making for a sure treat for the receiver.

The idea is to pick a card Lela made and case it.  I picked this card from Lela's blog:

This is my version:

Crafty Gals - Celebrate Tracie

It's SCS Crafty Gals time to celebrate another member of this particular blog group.  Not knowing Tracie very well at all, I spent quite a bit of time enjoying her blog.  She loves using her Cricut and the list of cartridges she owns is never ending.  I saw lots of cute and fun cards on her blog and monochromatic scrapbook layouts

My selection to case was her Celebrate Life altered notebook:

I think it is absolutely gorgeous!

Keeping in mind her altered journal, I created the following:

ENJOY!

Crafty Gals - Love for Barb

April is the month to show some love to Barb.  Barb has a great style with her layered panels on her creations. She is not afraid of color either and has a great collection of wonderful sentiments. Barb loves to travel, loves the outdoors and has many adventures walking, biking, and hiking trails. Be sure to check out her blog - Barb's Inkin' Into Retirement - not only will you find awesome inspiration but just looking around is fun, too.

I used this card of Barb's as inspiration

to make my version:

I love all the layers, patterned papers, bright colors, dimension, embellishments.

Thanks for looking!

Crafty Gals - Showin Love for Carolina

Today, is Splitcoaststampers Crafty Gals challenge day post and this month it is showing love for Carolina.  I am new to this group but spent quite a bit of time looking through her blog - Cardolina Scrapolina.  She is amazing!  I found a few things we have in common: 1) We both love My Favorite Things, 2) Love bright colors, and 3) Love the mix of DSP.

I chose the following from Carolina's blog to showcase:

And, this is what I did with bright colors and mixing DSP:

I hope you enjoy and stop by Carolina's blog and leave her some love, too!

Crafty Gals - January

It's Anything Goes for the SCS Crafty Gals.  I just joined this blog group.  What a great group of ladies!  On the 5th of each month we will post our take on the monthly challenge.  This month I used a Christmas gift I hadn't yet gotten posted.

You all know how hard it is to come up with that gift for a parent - especially the elderly parent that wants nothing and seems to have all they need.  Three years ago I made my Mom a calendar for Christmas and she loved it.  Year two she told me she was hoping to get another.  So, for this year, number three I didn't want to disappoint.  My Mom is 84 and she keeps this calendar in her living room.  It is 6 x 6.  The actual calendar download is from Taylored Expressions.  And, she displays it in the 6 x 6 Frame Your Imagination Vertical Stand also from Taylored Expressions.

I took the pics in a rush and many I am not happy with and wish I had reviewed them before giving.  But, you know that last minute Christmas rush to get it all done and wrapped because it is Christmas Eve.  Christmas Day is traveling 1 1/2 hours to spend with her so retaking them at this moment in time is not possible.

A challenge for me this year is not to wait until the last month to get all my Christmas gifts done.  Wouldn't it be so much simpler if I took care of each month as easily as it is turning the calendar page?  Thus, allowing for better photos in better light with minimal editing.

For 2013, I used My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Girls for January - December.  Each month has the girl with the flower of the month.

I have another calendar to post that was also a gift but for my Aunt done in a completely different size.

I hope you take the time to visit all the Crafty Gals blogs and leave a comment.  Their links are all on the left-side of my blog.
