I, personally, am a huge fan of Avocado Arts.  Plus, I subscribed to one of their monthly plans.  With that in mind, I used four of their past sets to create "The Goddesses of Avocado Arts".

I used the following four sets in order of the goddesses:

Perfect Sentiment Challenge - Favorite Scripture/Quote Sketch

I love quotes, words, and my file of them is large.  When choosing which one to use I went with what I had in my stamp collection.

Challenge
Use a favorite scripture or quote as your sentiment

Twist
Use the provided sketch to design your card

My Card

For my design this week I used my new favorite paper - DCWV The Linen Closet.  I love this pad and have already used it on a few different projects.  Just like the DCWV Lemon Flower stack I had to buy several.  I see this pad following the same path.

Perfect Sentiment Challenge: Here Comes the Sun

Happy, Sunny Summer!

Not only "Here Comes the Sun" but also heat and humidity.  There is always this discussion at our house if the AC needs to be on or not.  When I use to be a SAHM when my children were babies through elementary school, I preferred the windows open.  Thinking that since I didn't work in AC it wasn't as noticeable.  But, when my now ex-husband would come home from work, he would always wonder why it wasn't on.  Heck, we had an in ground swimming pool in our backyard!  Who needed AC?

Now, being homebound, after working 17+ years, I am back to wanting the windows open.  My second husband and adult daughter don't agree.  They just don't think it is fun getting ready for work in a sweat.

The Perfect Sentiment challenge this week is to create a card with a sunny sentiment.  Examples include:  You Are My Sunshine, Wishing You Sunny Days, You Shine, You Make Life Bright, etc.  Just remember that sentiment must be on the front of the card to qualify for a chance at winning the prize donated by our sponsor.

The twist is a simple one - include an image of the sun on your card.

Pattie's Creations is our sponsor this week.  She will award one random winner a free digi of their choice.  Thank you, Pattie!

Here is my "sunny" card:

I tried creating a tie-dye effect for her shirt.  Photographed it is looking for blotchy.  In person, I thought it looked good.

Supplies:
Hero Arts background stamp
Color Box - Glacier Ice
MFT Hula Girl
FancyPants DSP - Beach Babe
Memento - Black
FlowerSoft - Sand
Derwent Watercolor pencils

Perfect Sentiment Challenge - Father's Day Color Story

Father's Day is the theme for this week's challenge at Perfect Sentiment.  Just like Mother's Day, there might be one or maybe more that you look to as your father.

"It is admirable for a man to take his son fishing, but there is a special place in heaven for the father who takes his daughter shopping." - John Sinor

The Challenge:  Create a card with a sentiment for Father's Day.  Please remember the sentiment must be on the front of the card.

The Twist:  Use at least three of the colors from the color story below as inspiration.

My dad took me fishing, never shopping.  My husband has my two children to remember him on Father's Day.  Sometimes those Happy Father's Day greetings come from others... like a fur baby.  In our family that would be, Sassy.  She is our little girl and we love her immensely.  When Dad comes home Sassy is so excited to see him.    Here's a pic of Sassy, followed by my card for this week's challenge:

Be sure to check out the entire design team's creations all of which are located in my right sidebar.

Thank you to Shelly's Images for providing a prize of one free digi to the random number winner this week.

Happy Father's Day to All and with all the inspiration from the design team you must have gotten some ideas for your creation.  Hope to see you playing along with us!

Perfect Sentiment Challenge - Lacey Romance

Love is in the air this week for the Perfect Sentiment Challenge.  To join in you are to create a card with a sentiment appropriate for love, weddings, or anniversary. The twist is to some lacey detail to your card (i.e. lace, lacey die cut).
Meljen's Designs is this week's challenge sponsor.  The winner of the Lacey Romance challenge will receive their choice of four (4) non-colored images.

My card uses a new image from Penny Black.  It reminds me so very much of my parents.  For coloring, I decided to give my watercolor pencils a try. All the others elements used came from stash.

Perfect Sentiment Challenge - Anything Goes

It's "Anything Goes" week at The Perfect Sentiment Challenge blog. Create anything you want as long as it has a sentiment on the front (card, tags, ATCs, altered art, home decor, etc.). The twist:  if you create a scrapbook page that clearly has a stamped sentiment, scripture or quote on it you may enter it.  It must be stamped. It cannot be digital and the title of your scrapbook page does not count.

Limited Runs is our sponsor and they are providing the winner with three digis from their store.

The card I created also includes a tag with a simple sentiment to let someone know you are thinking of them or just to say hello.

For additional inspiration, check out the other Perfect Sentiment designers. Their blog links are included in my right sidebar.

Hope to see you playing along this week!

Perfect Sentiment Challenge - Getting Well without Get Well

Here's a fun challenge.  This one took me a bit to come up with something.  The Perfect Sentiment challenge this week is to create a Get Well card.  The twist is to use those fun sentiments to wish your receiver without actually saying "Get Well" (i.e. All Fizzled Out, Under the Weather, Wishing You Sunny Days, Feel Better Soon, Take Good Care).  Easy!  Right?

The winner of this challenge will receive one free digi from Shelly's Images, a loyal and monthly sponsor.  At Shelly's Images you will find just the right digi to meet your need.

What did I come up with for this challenge and twist?

The image is from Whippersnapper, sentiment from my mind, and Copic coloring of sick cows.

PSC30 - Handmade Flowers for Mom

Celebrate Mom!  And, what Mom doesn't like flowers.  The Perfect Sentiment challenge and twist this week:
Create a card with a sentiment for Mother's Day.  Be sure the sentiment is on the front of the card.
Add handmade flowers to your card from punches, dies, Cricut cartridges, etc.

Taking that in mind, I created:

The flowers were created by using Heidi Grace "Daisy Dear" Punchout Pad - Flowers, spritzed with Studio Calico Mister Huey's Color Mists after inking the edges with Powder Puff chalking ink in amaretto and crumpling to a small ball.  Using my heat gun and a wooden skewer I apply the heat separating the petal leaves as the paper dries.

Perfect Sentiment Challenge - All Occasion Sketch

The challenge this week at Perfect Sentiments is to create a card with a sentiment for any occasion.  (Reminder:  be sure the sentiment is on the front of the card.)  And, the twist is to use the sketch below as your design:

I have had this Unity stamp for quite sometime now and have never had the "occasion" to use it.  The image was stamped using Memento black.  Using three different colors of Tim Holtz stain, spritzed with glimmer, I pulled my image through the mixture.  The sentiment idea "Just B U" actually came to mind from another Unity stamp but I used various items from my stash to create the message.  The three rounds in the lower, right-hand corner were made using the 25mm Ephiphany punch.

Pattie's Creations is generously donating one free digi to the winner of this challenge drawn randomly from all the qualifying entries.

Perfect Sentiment Challenge - Monochromatic Thoughts of You

Monochromatic.  Just what does that mean?  Before doing this week's challenge I had to consult Google just to be sure.  And, if you select Images from the left sidebar there are numerous images to give you a clear understanding.  Monochromatic is from one single hue with the addition or white or black, but not both.  For example:

The Challenge:  Create a card with a sentiment that lets someone know you are thinking of them.
If playing along, remember the sentiment must be on the front of the card to qualify.

The Twist:  Use a monochromatic color scheme in the design of your card.

Keeping this in mind I created:

The sentiment reads "Just sitting here Thinking of you".  The bench and sentiment are from Taylored Expressions "In the Park" set of 21.  To create the hue levels I used various patterns, inking, ribbon, brads and cardstock which was the base for using these colors.

Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps is generously donating a $10 gift certificate to the winner of this challenge. Be sure to check out their shop full of 1000's of digi goodies!

Perfect Sentiment Challenge - Encouragement

"Never let the odds keep you from doing what you know in your heart you were meant to do."

The Perfect Sentiment Challenge this week:  Create a card with a sentiment of congratulations or any sentiment that acknowledges an accomplishment or encourages someone to pursue their dreams/goals.  Examples include:  Congrats, You Did It, Dream Big, So Proud of You, You Rock, Shoot for the Stars, etc.  Remember your sentiment must be on the front of the card.
And, the twist:  Use the below sketch as inspiration for your card design.  Feel free to rotate or flip the sketch to make it work for you as long as we can still see the basic outline of the sketch in your design.

And here is my card:

The sentiment I chose because of some people I know that are ready to take on new and amazing adventures in their lives - leaving behind the known and comfortable.  Because of their creativity, drive, and determination I know they will be a huge success.

The paper is from Basic Grey - A Little Black Dress.  I chose the two varying prints as, to me, they represent the broadest personality spectrum.  Plaids are safe and comfortable.  Leopards are wild, crazy, looking for new avenues to explore.  The sentiment and image are Unity Birdie Duet.  The plaid and leopard paper was also used to create the center brads for the three flowers and one brad for the inside.  Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Five is the die cut for the stamped sentiment.  The image was embossed using Zing Black.

This challenge is being sponsored by Pattie's Creations.  The winner will receive their choice of one free digi image.
